Established in 1872, Yellowstone National Park is America's first national park. Located in Wyoming, Montana, and Idaho it is home to a large variety of wildlife including grizzly bears, wolves, bison, and elk. Preserved within Yellowstone National Park are Old Faithful and a collection of the world's most extraordinary geysers and hot springs, and the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone.

	7D Ranch Cody, Wyoming Phone: +1 888-587-9885 The 7D Ranch is about an hour from the NE Entrance of Yellowstone National Park. A special hiking and/or fishing trip is offered into Yellowstone Park on Thursdays. Yellowstone trips focus on the northern part of the Park from the Lamar Valley to the Mammoth Hot Springs (about 2.5-3 hours of driving to the Springs). Hiking excursions range from 3 to 5 miles depending upon interests. All guests pack a picnic lunch and any gear necessary for an all-day outing. Lunch may be eaten on the trail, beside a lake, or at a picnic location.

Most of our guests rent cars, and it is possible to take a day trip to Yellowstone during your stay here. However, you will miss something going on at the ranch so if you have the time, we recommend adding a day or two to the beginning or end of your ranch stay so that you can fully enjoy the park. We tour the whole "Lower Loop" of the Park which includes Sylvan Pass, Fishing Bridge, Yellowstone Lake, West Thumb, Old Faithful, Madison, Norris Geyser Basin, Canyon and Yellowstone Falls, and Yellowstone River. We eat the picnic lunch at Old Faithful Lodge. We depart at 8 a.m., and return at approximately 6 p.m.. It is an exciting day filled with geysers, spectacular views, and wildlife.

Cody, Wyoming is approximately a 4 1/2 to 5 hour drive from the ranch or 285 miles. If you fly into Casper Wyoming you can make it a nice round trip by driving to Cody, WY and into Yellowstone NP and return through Teton NP and Jackson Hole onto the ranch via Alcova.
