Discover Your Inner Cowboy! Our 3200-acre Ranch in the scenic Colorado foothills is an easy hour's drive from Denver. Conveniently situated near Rocky Mountain National Park and Estes Park, Sylvan Dale's Dude Ranch and Retreat Center is nestled along the banks of Colorado's beautiful Big Thompson River. Trophy trout fly fishing, nature experiences, tennis, swimming, and many other outdoor adventure activities await you.
Sylvan Dale is an historic working horse and cattle ranch (our all-natural Heart-J Beef is delicious and available for purchase). Guests go on cattle drives and cattle roundups, trail rides, and overnight pack trips, take horseback riding lessons and play Gymkhana games on horseback. So c'mon and saddle up, discover your inner cowboy, and experience the old-fashioned family hospitality and cowboy culture of the historic American West.
During the ten weeks of summer (mid-June through August) we host 6-night dude ranch vacations, plus groups on Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning. During the rest of the year (fourth week in August through mid-June), we host group events such as overnight conferences and retreats, family, class, or company reunions, business meetings, celebration dinners,receptions and picnics. We also offer bed & breakfast stays, unforgettable holiday packages, special events and the best weddings in Loveland!
What makes us different? Our family has been offering legendary hospitality since 1946. Our precisely one-mile-high elevation assures comfort for multi-generational families. We raise cattle, horses, and have an authentic western experience. Green practices (not a new way of doing things for us!) and eco-friendly activities blend the values of present day with a step back to a simpler time. For you good folks with deep concern for preserving nature and the environment, you'll appreciate our green philosophy and passion for sustainable practices. Ranch Dining
Our meals feature fresh vegetables and fruits, from scratch specialties, hot-out-of-the-oven home-baking and vegetarian selections. Special diet needs are accommodated with prior notification. Specialties include family-style Fried Chicken, outdoor Steak Fry with Heart-J beef, turkey dinner, and a Mexican Buffet. Home-baked goodies are tradition. Entrees include Heart-J Beef, from our herd of free-range steers raised free of steroids, hormones, and antibiotics. |
Ranch Activities
"Discover Your Inner Cowboy!" at our historic working cattle ranch in the Rocky Mountain foothills. Cattle drives, overnight pack trips, western riding instruction, scenic trail rides, fishing, hay rides, western cookouts, evening entertainment, supervised youth program, terrific home baking and legendary hospitality keep folks returning year after year. Activities are planned to maximize a feeling of home and family participation. Come for special weeks like Cowgirl Roundup and Thanksgiving! |
Ranch Lodging
Clustered in the main yard amid flowers, giant cottonwoods and towering blue spruce, our cabins are warmly decorated with comfortable country furnishings and antique accents. All have private baths, air conditioning, carpeting, small refrigerator, coffee maker and porch. Beds are queen-sized, supplemented with single beds in some rooms. You're sure to enjoy a restful night with the sounds of the Big Thompson River bubbling nearby. |

Payments & Cancellations: Final payment is due at check-out, but you are welcome to prepay your package rate. For reservations of less than 20 people, the 30% deposit is refundable (less $50 service charge per person) for cancellations made at least 90 days prior to planned arrival. Deposits for groups of 20 or more people are not refundable. We recommend travelers insurance to protect your deposit.
