Rancho De La Osa Guest Ranch
Rancho De La Osa is a 300 year old ranch property locatead 65 miles from Tucson, and is one of the last great haciendas in America. Opened as a guest ranch on Thanksgiving Day in 1924, the ranch's history has been lovingly preserved in the beautiful buildings that rest comfortably in the rolling grasslands of the high Sonoran Desert. The hacienda, built between the 1830's and 1860's, today houses two dining rooms and four salon areas with fireplaces for warmth and relaxation. The adobe walls of the hacienda are more than two feet thick, providing natural cooling from the summer heat and warmth from the late night winter chill. The 18 adobe guest rooms are uniquely and vibrantly furnished with Mexican antiques. All rooms are ground level with separate entrances and private bathrooms. Each has a porch that opens to mountain views and most rooms have a wood burning fireplace. All rooms are in close proximity to the pool, hot tub, corrals, and dining areas. Meal times are focused around quality food and wine, and daytime activities include horseback riding, hiking, biking, nature walks, and bird watching. Rancho De La Osa periodically offers gourmet wine tasting weekends and cowgirl camps. As well as being a destination for those interested in horseback riding, history, nature and the great outdoors, Rancho De La Osa is also a perfect venue for family reunions, elopements, small destination weddings, and corporate retreats.
