Klondike Ranch

Klondike Ranch is located at the base of the Big Horn Mountains in north central Wyoming.  We are not only a guest ranch, with accommodations for 6 to 10 guests, 14 years and older, at a time,  but a working cattle ranch along with our hay and wheat crops.  After our calving season, we trail the cows and calves to the mountain the end of June and back home the end of September.   Through the summer we move them, by horseback, from pasture to pasture.  This is one of the many activities our guests are welcome to join.  We also offer camping, fishing, hiking, sightseeing, historic tours of the surrounding areas, relaxing trail rides and a hot tub.  The ranch is just 25 minutes from Buffalo where there is a large free swimming pool, an excellent golf course, weekly rodeos, gift shops and one of the most interesting historic museums in the country.

Ranch Dining

At Klondike, the meals are served family style at the family's dinner table in our home.  The guests, hired help and our family all eat together.  The meals are pretty basic, meat and potatoes; pancakes, bacon and eggs.  Once in a while the cook will do something fancy, but we never go away hungry.  Meals can be arranged for vegetarians so everybody can enjoy a western meal.  At the campsite we cook over the camp fire, conditions permitting.

Ranch Activities

At Klondike we spend a lot of time on horseback.  There are a lot of other things to do: camping, fishing, hiking sightseeing, historic tours of the surrounding areas, and the hot tub. When it is all said and done, most folks want to ride.  We have an arena where we spend a little time getting acquainted with the horses and even some barrel racing. Once everybody is comfortable, we will spend most of our time riding out away from the barn. Our campsite is 15 miles from the ranch that we ride to.

Ranch Lodging

Klondike has 3 cabins for our guests.  The first cabin has a fire place, living room, 3 bedrooms and a bath. The second cabin has a living room, bedroom with 2 queen beds, and a private bath.  The third cabin, our newest, is a duplex.  Each room has a bedroom and private bath down stairs and a bed in the loft area. There is no door between the duplex rooms without using the main outside doors.  Once in a while we will use one of the bedrooms in the lodge which also has a private bathroom.
