Box R Ranch
The Lozier's Box "R" Ranch hosts from 16 adult only to 24 family ranch guests. Each weekly vacation is specifically tailored to offer the most enjoyable, unique and original but lightly regimented adventures. Except in June, most vacations and horseback holidays are from Sunday to Saturday, and can be joined for a shorter visit, if absolutely necessary.
Each guest is assigned their own private and personal horse and tack for the week. All of our vacations are "lightly" regimented and structured around ranch life; horsemanship, riding the ranch, working cattle, sunrise breakfast rides, all day high mountain scenic trips and lakeside private beach swimming and BBQ's, with optional moonlit-starlight rides home in the dark.
Very experienced cowboy wranglers will invite and teach you all the "Cowboy Tricks". They will coax you to join in catching, grooming, caring for your own horse while saddling and bridling and learning efficient and effective mounting and dismounting techniques. They will help you learn proper posture and reining, then to manage a trot or a slow canter or even some wide open galloping. The secrets to riding safely in the open range and how you can work with your four legged partner to create a synchronized, productive team.
Lozier's Box "R" Ranch is the perfect place to relax, enjoy and cherish the peace and tranquility of our remote ranch location. Imagine yourself here, no highways, no traffic, no vehicles, no noise? Silence interrupted only by the stir of a soft mountain breeze or the exhale as your good horse works to please you? Open vistas for 150 miles from a breakfast overlook? The Milky Way and Curlew's call during austere silent nights for six days straight! If a weeks visit is beyond your constraints, please ask about shorter visits.
Our goal is for all our guests to experience a true western working ranch, from cowboy horsemanship to designing your own ambitions. You will be feeling like you are part of the West and our cowboy crew upon departure. We can help make your cowboy dreams come true.

Ranch Dining
The Box "R" Ranch boasts a true ranch atmosphere with ranch guests and crew eating together. This is a prime time to share stories and make new friends. MEALS are served buffet or family style, all day rides include personalized custom lunches. We take extreme pride in delicious entrees of prime rib, California tri-tips, fried chicken, pork chops, and Mexican, Italian and German entrees. All dinners are accompanied by a large salad bar, hot vegetables, fresh baked breads, and desserts and combinations which will insure your dining pleasure. |
Ranch Activities
We offer several types of vacations suitable for the novice to the expert horseman. Our season begins with our legendary Cowboy Camp & Spring Cattle Drives which are true to our Western Cowboy heritage. While the cattle are grazing during the summer months of July & August, we offer some splendid Horseback Riding Vacations for both Family & Adult Only weeks. Guests help us gather the cattle off the mountain during our Fall Cattle Roundup Weeks, while seeing country that just as pretty as heaven. |
Ranch Lodging
Lozier's Box "R" Ranch welcomes 16 to 24 guests per week in 14 guest rooms. With group lodges, double and single cabins and a 40 pillow count, we can arrange almost any combination or request. Three recreation and reading rooms, BYOB bar, 14 porches and lots of privacy. All cabins/rooms have their own private baths. Free guest laundry available daily at 3:00 pm. Antelope, Moose, Deer and horses wander about ranch every evening and by your porch as if they owned the Place. |

NON-REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT & CANCELLATION POLICY: No booking is considered "confirmed" until a non-refundable 25% deposit is received. If a cancellation is made 45 days prior to your arrival, Box "R" Ranch, will carry-over the non-refundable deposit to the following year at that years rate-less a $100.00/per person handling fee. If the deposit is unused during the following year, or if a cancellation is made less than 45 days prior to your arrival said deposit will be deemed forfeited. EARLY DEPARTURES MAY RESULT IN LOSS OF ALL DEPOSITS OR PAYMENTS.
